The COTA provides occupational therapy treatments and assists residents with therapeutic exercises to improve their daily living activities. They are also responsible for documenting progress and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure resident safety and dignity.
Candidates must hold a current Ohio Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in good standing. A graduate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program is required, with preference given to those with skilled nursing or rehabilitation experience.
Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) assists residents in improving their ability to perform activities of daily living and achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life.
