Provide non-medical care and support to assisted living residents, including assistance with activities of daily living and medication reminders. Maintain a clean and safe environment while documenting services provided in daily logs.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and current CPR certification. Prior caregiving experience is preferred, along with the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving residents.

To provide a clean and safe environment through non-medical tasks/duties for residents based on their service plan and in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and facility standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be required by the Assisted Living Manager, or Wellness Nurse to ensure that the highest degree of services are offered and provided at all times. Knowledge/Skill/Experience High school graduate or equivalent. Prior care giving experience preferred. Current CPR certification. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a diverse group of people. Ability and willingness to work harmoniously within a team environment departmentally. Aptitude for detail work as well as understand and meet job responsibility time frames. Ability to determine, understand and maintain cleanliness issues. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility. Contact with Others Extensive contact with residents on a daily basis. Daily contact with all levels of personnel within the company. Some interaction with resident’s family members. Delegation of Authority As Resident Assistant you are delegated the responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Responsibility for Confidential Data Employees are required to safeguard sensitive information. Sensitive information includes, but shall not be limited to, information concerning Cantata Adult Life Services’ former and current residents/clients, medical and health information and Cantata Adult Life Services’ information systems including but not limited to the Internet and E-mail. Information must be safeguarded in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and facility standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Must meet general health requirements as set forth by this facility. Must be able to manually push, pull, and/or move, a minimum of 50 pounds frequently for brief periods of time. Must be able to manually lift a minimum of 10 pounds frequently for brief periods of time. Must be able to walk, stand, sit and bend frequently for moderate periods of time. May be requested to work over scheduled hours, weekends and holidays when necessary. Individual will be scheduled based on operational need. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. Exposure Classification Job duties are classified as Category I (routine contact with blood, body fluids or tissues). Routine exposure to chemicals, which are identified for use in the assisted living department.
