The specialist will perform clinical and administrative tasks to support a dermatologist, including preparing patients and assisting with medical procedures. They are also responsible for administering medications, documenting records, and providing patient education.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program with an active Florida license or have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program. One year of experience in dermatology is preferred for both roles.
Description THE IDEAL CANDIDATE NEED TO BE AN LPN OR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT Summary/Objective: Perform a variety of clinical and/or administrative task to help a dermatologist run their office Essential Functions · Summons and prepares patient for office visit. · Assists Physician or PA with medical office procedures. · Administers medications, including injections, documents meds given or prescribed by ordering provider. · Administers dermatology and pathology biopsy procedures. · Assumes responsibility of maintaining current certification in CPR. · Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policy & procedures and newsletters. · Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting in patient’s record. · Attends support staff and department meetings to keep informed of employee issues and concerns as well as organizational updates. · Maintains confidentiality of clinic materials. · Provides and reinforces patient instruction and education as indicated.
45 am- 4:30 pm, with a half-day on Friday once per month.
LPN Specialist requirements are: Required Education and Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Must possess active Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Licensed Practical Nurse. 1 year experience in Dermatology.
