This is a casual, as-needed position designed for experienced veterinary professionals looking to pick up extra shifts. Relief team members are scheduled based on hospital needs and availability.
At SAGE Concord, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, you'll work in the East Bay's largest Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Hospital. Since opening our state-of-the-art facility in 2022, we've expanded access to advanced Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, and Integrative Medicine.

In your day-To-Day, you will
Triage emergency patients and prioritize care based on medical urgency.
Monitor critically ill, unstable, and recovering patients.
Administer medications, IV fluids, oxygen therapy, CRIs, and other treatments.
Assist with emergency procedures, diagnostics, and patient stabilization.
Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and patient monitoring.
Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and pet owners.
Ensure emergency equipment and supplies are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
What you bring
High school diploma required.
Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license highly preferred.
Previous Emergency or Specialty Veterinary experience required.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and client service skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer (not required for licensed RVTs).
Strong mathematical skills for calculating drug dosages, CRIs, client estimates, and invoices.
Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and composure in a fast-paced emergency environment.
