The Surgical Technologist assists the surgical team by preparing equipment, maintaining a sterile field, and supporting patient care before, during, and after procedures. They also manage surgical supplies, perform counts, and facilitate room turnover to ensure efficient surgical operations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program with at least two years of experience. A Basic Life Support (BLS) credential is required, and certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program. Visual color acuity screening depending on the role in specific units. Must hold American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Technologist in Surgery- Certified (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
