About the Role

Minimum Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Technician from an accredited institution or recognized certifying body.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal medical technician training program.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and laboratory procedures.
• Familiarity with safety and infection control standards in healthcare settings.
• Ability to pass background checks and comply with healthcare regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• Experience working in a clinical laboratory or healthcare environment.
• Certification in phlebotomy or other specialized medical technician areas.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and process patient specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples following established protocols.
• Operate and maintain medical laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and cleanliness.
• Assist healthcare providers during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by preparing necessary instruments and materials.
• Document and maintain accurate patient records and test results in compliance with privacy regulations.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and infection control procedures to protect patients and staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and provide reassurance.
• Support inventory management by tracking supplies and ordering replacements as needed.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to uphold laboratory standards.
