The caregiver is responsible for providing personal care services, including hygiene assistance, meal preparation, and housekeeping, in accordance with MD Department of Health standards. They must also document observations, report changes in patient condition, and assist with medication reminders and transportation.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed at least 40 hours of personal care training. Additionally, they must possess a current CPR license, be free of communicable diseases, and demonstrate the physical ability to perform caregiving tasks.
Montgomery, Prince George's, and Howard counties.
Responsible in providing services as patient care aide (PCA) in accordance to the standards and qualification set by the MD Department of Health (MDH).
1. Has a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Must have completed a minimum of 40 hours of training which includes an introduction to personal care services.
3. Must be free communicable disease.
4. Must be able to comprehend and apply the basics of personal care, housekeeping and meal preparation.
5. Must comprehend and respect client’s ethics and ensure confidentiality of client's protected health information.
6. Must be able to understand, read and write English.
7. Must be able to complete required training by MDH.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Follows the plan of care to help the patient to maintain good personal hygiene and maintain a healthful, safe environment, is to perform ONLY those functions specified for each individual patient.
2. Receives written instructions from the supervisor as mandated by MDH.
3. Has knowledge of Agency policies and procedures
4. Is trained in first aid and able to show proof of current CPR license.
5. Is oriented and trained in all aspects of care to be provided to clients. This includes ability to handle the demands of clients who have altered intellectual, emotional and psychological capabilities, and may do or say things that are only expected from normal persons.
6. If able to demonstrate competency in all areas of training for personal care
9. Documents observations and services in the individual client record.
10. Reports any change in the patient's mental or physical condition or in the home situation to his/her immediate supervisor, the staff nurse, or to the Home Care Aide supervisor.
Must be able to enter information into an application on a smartphone.
Full- and part-time shifts available. Hours are flexible and can include days, evenings, overnights or weekends, depending upon the candidate's availability.
