The Residential Counselor provides 24/7 direct supervision and support to adolescents in a group home setting. They are responsible for implementing individualized treatment plans, facilitating daily routines, and responding to crisis situations.
A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have experience working with adolescents and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations.
Staff maintain structure, consistency and predictability in day-to-day interventions. There are clear routines to maintain a structured environment as well as individualized safety plans that can be utilized if/when a resident is experiencing challenges emotionally and/or behaviorally. Program decisions and program norms are intended to provide a safe, caring, respectful living environment, and promote a positive peer culture.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Residential Counselor to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting youth through behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges in a structured, therapeutic environment. Additionally, ideal candidates would work collaboratively with other staff, be able to give and receive respectful feedback and open to alternative ways of working with youth who have experienced complex developmental trauma.
· Provide direct 24/7 supervision and support to residents.
· Implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clinical staff
· Facilitate daily routines, life skills development, and therapeutic activities
· Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
· Model appropriate behavior and communication skills
· Document client progress and maintain accurate records
· Respond to crisis situations using approved intervention techniques
Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field (preferred)
· Experience working with adolescents, especially in behavioral health or residential settings
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations
· Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Valid driver’s license (if transportation of clients is required)
