The Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation to patients according to physician-prescribed treatment plans. They are responsible for maintaining established standards of practice and ensuring high-quality patient care.
Candidates must have a degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology or Radiation Therapy program and at least one year of clinical experience. Active ARRT certification in Radiological Therapy and BLS certification are required.
The Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation (radiation therapy treatments) to patients as specifically prescribed by a physician in a detailed treatment plan according to established standards and practices.
Graduate of a Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation-accredited education program or Radiologic Technology/Radiation Therapy Program. 1+ years of experience as a radiation therapist with comprehensive clinical knowledge to include treatment delivery and simulation. Active and current ARRT certification in Radiological Therapy. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Skillful in leadership, judgement, creativity, and significant knowledge of the field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Aria and EPIC, particularly scheduling, charge capture, treatment delivery, historical treatment record interpretation, and clinical data. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
