The LCDC Counselor provides individual and group substance abuse counseling, conducts assessments, and facilitates educational sessions for clients. They also manage client documentation, provide transportation, and advocate for clients within the community and school settings.
Candidates must hold a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) license from the State of Texas. A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and auto liability coverage are also required for travel purposes.
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor by the State of Texas required Valid driver license, appropriate driving record, and auto liability coverage required (travel required) ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares confidential correspondence in a professional style and format Performs the twelve (12) core functions of counseling as defined by the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Maintains effective filing system and files necessary information according to Agency and DSHS policies and procedures Provides client transportation to activities in a safe and appropriate manner Documents all activities provided to clients according to Agency standards and procedures in EMR system Prepares monthly reports in a timely manner as requested by supervisor Prepares time reports and mileage accurately and on time Conducts community presentations as necessary Attends all staff meetings and trainings as assigned by supervisor Serves as an advocate for the clients at all times Provides curriculum-based prevention/intervention programs in assigned schools as directed by supervisor Communicate with community members, such as clients, general public, and other service providers in a friendly, cooperative and professional manner, conducting presentations as necessary Assists with letters of agreements for grants Reports any emerging trends or unusual situations to supervisor Assists in monitoring the quantitative goals and targeted risk groups to assure compliance with grant requirements Facilitates admission (into program) and/or referral (e.g., inpatient treatment, mental health counseling) to appropriate services to assist clients The above information is intended to describe the most important aspects of the job.
