The COTA provides occupational therapy services to residents under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help them recover daily living skills. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, documenting resident progress, and assisting with adaptive equipment and functional mobility training.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program and hold a current COTA license. The role requires the ability to work under clinical supervision and adhere to all state and federal healthcare regulations.
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides occupational therapy services to residents under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). The COTA assists residents in developing, recovering, and maintaining the skills needed for daily living and meaningful activities. This role plays a vital part in delivering person-centered, compassionate care that aligns with Campbell Street’s mission of Developing Exceptional People Who Drive Extraordinary Care. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Provide occupational therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help residents improve functional abilities. Document resident progress, treatment sessions, and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner. Observe, report, and communicate resident responses, progress, or concerns to the OT and interdisciplinary team. Assist with adaptive equipment use and training for residents and caregivers. Support residents in activities of daily living (ADLs), therapeutic exercises, and functional mobility. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment. Adhere to all facility policies, regulatory standards, and ethical guidelines. Participate in care planning meetings, in-services, and team collaboration.
