About the role

The CRNA is responsible for the administration of anesthesia to surgical patients, including pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up. They must also monitor patients during surgery and collaborate effectively with the surgical and medical staff.

Mitchell County Regional Health Center is in Osage, Iowa located in Mitchell County, which has a population of 10,600 people. MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,700 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,800 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry. We are proud to share our strong tradition of excellence, progress and solid economic performance. Founded more than 75 years ago as a community hospital, today we operate three clinics, 24/7 emergency services, inpatient and outpatient medical/surgical services. We have invested millions in facility upgrades just in the last few years. With more than 225 employees and average tenure of eight years, our growth continues with multiple expansion projects currently underway. We are an affiliate of MercyOne. About The Job: The CRNA is directly responsible for the administration of anesthesia to surgical patients while doing pre-operative evaluations and selecting appropriate anesthetics. Assures proper administration of anesthetic while monitoring patient during the course of surgery, as well as follows the patient postoperatively. The CRNA will collaborate effectively with surgeons, medical staff, surgery staff and administration. The Shift: 1.0 FTE 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday, no call, weekends or holidays.

  • Qualifications:
  • Education: Be a graduate from an approved school of nursing and hold a current state licensure as a registered nurse. Be a graduate from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council of Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. Have successfully completed the certification examination administered by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists or its predecessor.

  • Requirements: Must show proof of current licensure as a Registered Nurse, and Advanced Practice Nurse, active practice as a CRNA, appropriate continuing education to maintain licensure. Must comply with the state requirements regulating the advanced practice of nursing. DEA Registration and Iowa Controlled Substances Certificate. Active Member of AANA preferred.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nurse anesthesia program and hold current state licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse. A minimum of five years of experience in a rural hospital setting is preferred, along with active ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
