The technician is responsible for dispensing medications, monitoring patient vital signs, and observing patients for adverse drug reactions. They also assist nurses in providing care while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to ethical and legal standards.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Medication Aide Certification. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills are required to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Dispense oral, inhalation and topical medications to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse unless otherwise allowed by state law.
Observe patients for drug reactions and report any problems to the nurses.
Performing tasks associated with medication administration, including patient vital signs, calculate medication dosages and stock the medication cart.
Recording medication administration according to agency procedure
Assists the nurse in providing care to clients, which includes observation and reporting of client needs
Recognizes and performs tasks according to the level of education and training

The Clinical Medical Authority coordinates with contract physician(s) and "other licensed medical professionals to maintain on site and/or on-call services.
