The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will assess patient conditions, order diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with Medical Oncologists. They are responsible for managing disease and symptoms in both clinic and inpatient settings while ensuring quality care and infection control.

Assess patient’s condition, diagnoses, orders appropriate diagnostic tests, and develops treatment plans in conjunction with the Medical Oncologists to manage a cancer patient’s disease and symptoms in the setting of the clinic office to assure that the delivery of quality patient care is consistent with policies and procedures. Participates in quality improvement and infection control activities. Performs duties and care in the inpatient setting as assigned.
As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
Candidates must have completed an approved physician assistant or nurse practitioner program and hold a current New York State license. Experience in Hematology/Oncology is preferred, along with BLS certification and knowledge of organizational policies and medical equipment.
