About the role

The Parent Partner provides hands-on peer support to families and caregivers within the Wraparound Program. They work as part of a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized treatment plans in home and community settings.

Wraparound peer parent partner

An integral member of the Child and Family Team, the primary role of the Parent Partner is to provide active, hands-on “peer” support to parents of youth/young adults receiving services within the Wraparound Program. This position is responsible for providing guidance and support to families/caregivers in a variety of environments within the Franklin County and Grand Isle, VT area. This position works independently in the family’s home and in a variety of community and/or treatment settings and serves as a liaison for parent involvement.

Under supervision of the Facilitator/Case Manager, the Parent Partner will work with client’s caregiver to implement the treatment plan goals, which are family-centered, community-oriented, strength-based, culturally sensitive and highly individualized. Parent Partners are responsible for representing the interest and concerns of caregivers participating in the Wraparound Program through NFI located in St. Albans, VT.

Qualifications

  • Must have personal life experience as a parent or caregiver of at-risk child(ren).
  • High School Diploma, General Equivalency Degree or higher.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
  • Experience working with families/children involved with the juvenile justice system, dependency court system, child welfare system.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to relate to a culturally diverse clientele and professional colleagues.
  • Possession of a valid Vermont driver’s license, and utilization of their personal vehicle.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Familiar with Windows operations system, MS WORD, EXCEL, email, etc.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.

This position is 40 hours per week with a pay range of $21-$23 p/hour and offers a comprehensive benefits package including tuition reimbursement.
