The New Graduate Extern provides non-nursing patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. They undergo precepted training to prepare for the licensure exam and transition into RN duties.
Candidates must have graduated from a nursing program within the last 6 months and hold a BLS certification. A degree in ADN, BSN, or MSN is required.

The New Graduate Extern is a recent graduate of a nursing program and is awaiting to take and pass the licensure exam by the Ohio Board of Nursing to place them in a Registered Nurse position. The New Graduate will receive precepted training and experience that will assist with successful licensure examination and eventual transition to RN duties. The New Graduate will also perform non-nursing aspects of patient care as assigned or delegated by the supervising RN.
