Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care and monitor telemetry for med/surg patients; respond promptly to status changes.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in EPIC; communicate significant changes using SBAR.
• Support basic nursing tasks including ADLs, mobility assistance, and hygiene; aid in feeding as needed.
• Assist with telemetry-related care and procedures within scope; maintain equipment and monitor alarm alerts.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, Transport, Unit Secretary, Rapid Response, Interpretation Services) to coordinate patient care.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and ensure patient safety and comfort during shifts and handoffs.

Requirements

• Active New York nursing license in hand (no pending licenses) to submit
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
• EPIC charting experience required
• BLS certification
• Med/surg telemetry experience; ED overflow experience preferred
• Ability to float to med/surg patients as needed; willing to work nights and weekends as scheduled
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, overflow unit with variable census
