Responsibilities
Observe residents continuously for changes in mental and physical well-being; report pertinent findings to the Supervisor and provide a detailed handoff to the on-coming shift.
Receive, transcribe, and implement physician orders; administer medications and treatments and document via MARs/TARs and electronic systems; manage unit pharmaceutical supplies.
Supervise Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) in alignment with NH Board of Nursing requirements; assign care within scope and provide direct support as time allows.
Accompany physicians on rounds on assigned units; address medical needs and facilitate communication during 60-day reviews; assist with care planning and documentation.
Administer oxygen as directed; perform gastrostomy/jejunostomy feedings per policy; conduct wound care and manage wound vacs; uphold infection control practices.
Admit, discharge, and transfer residents; complete required documentation and 24-hour reports; maintain unit operations, track therapy appointments, and communicate with the Nurse Manager/Nursing Supervisor about issues.
