  • Electra Healthcare Center - Electra, TX 76360 Under the supervision of the established physical therapist, provides physical therapy treatment, documents treatments and charges, and assists in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist. Instruct, prepare, and reassure residents of treatment being performed. Perform treatments on residents at their scheduled times. Monitor and ensure resident safety during treatments. Transport residents in a safe manner. Provide care appropriate for the residents served based on demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Assess and interpret data on the resident’s status to identify residents’ requirements relative to their age specific needs and provide care needed as stipulated in departmental policy. Maintain records associated with resident's treatments. Record treatment results and progress notes accurately and legibly in resident charts. Communicate information to supervisor on resident’s treatment progress as directed. Assist in maintaining logs and reports. Assist in maintaining stock levels of supplies and required equipment. Ensure inventory is adequately stocked with supplies necessary for efficient operation. Perform the sterilization of equipment and work area. Perform minor and preventative maintenance on equipment and ensure equipment is properly stored after use. Report equipment problems to Operations Director.

  • EXPERIENCE: One year experience as a physical therapy assistant preferred.

Requirements

Requires graduation from an accredited physical therapy assistant program and a current Texas Physical Therapy Assistant license. Candidates must possess CPR certification and the physical ability to lift, transfer, and support patients.
