In this role you will
1.
Maintains responsibility for admission and assessment of new residents.
2.
Receives and gives accurate, timely verbal and written reports on residents' condition upon shift change.
Confers with nursing leadership and/or the nurse(s) on the next shift to provide continuity of care and relay information to other nursing shifts to assure proper follow-up of physician's orders and instructions.
3.
Makes routine rounds of assigned residents and modifies standard nursing procedures for care, as needed.
4.
Ensures that medications are administered within required time frames and as needed (PRN).
Documents any adverse reactions and takes appropriate measures.
5.
Inventories medication supplies and orders medications from the pharmacy as needed.

Reads all medication labels and alerts supervisor of any possible pharmacy or dispensing errors.
6.
Assists physicians in making rounds, performs nursing procedures, and contributes to residents' care plan and progress.
7.
Observes and reports symptoms/conditions of residents to the treating physician, director of nursing, and designated family member(s) in a timely manner.
8.
Receives, transcribes, and executes physicians’ written or verbal orders.
9.
Documents pertinent information in residents' medical records according to departmental policy and applicable State Department of Health regulations.
10.
Monitors and assists with responding to all nurse call systems and reports malfunctions immediately to the nursing leadership.
11.
Uses personal protective equipment when providing care and ensures all medical and medication dispensing equipment is clean, sanitized, secured and kept in an orderly manner.

30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Full-time night shift 10
30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Qualifications
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program; Maintains an active license in good standing with the state; Basic computer-related skills.
Preferred: Prior experience working in senior living/long-term care.
