The Registered Nurse will provide patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period, including monitoring vital signs and assisting medical teams. They are also responsible for administering treatments, documenting patient care, and responding to obstetric emergencies.
Candidates must hold a current Louisiana RN license and possess BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications. A minimum of 1–2 years of labor and delivery experience is preferred, along with an associate or bachelor degree in nursing.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth process. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patients during labor, assisting with deliveries, and supporting both patients and families in a fast-paced, collaborative clinical environment.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period Monitor fetal heart rates, contractions, and maternal vital signs; respond appropriately to changes in patient condition Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV therapy and epidural support Assist physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams during vaginal and cesarean deliveries Provide emotional support, education, and guidance to patients and their families throughout the birthing process Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards Respond to obstetric emergencies and participate in rapid interventions when needed Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients and newborns
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana (or eligibility to obtain) Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) Minimum of 1–2 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred (new graduates with relevant clinical rotations may be considered) Current certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills Ability to thrive in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) Experience in high-risk obstetrics Work Schedule: Full-time and part-time opportunities available Rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
$32.00 – $48.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and certifications Additional shift differentials and incentive pay may apply
