The Endoscopy Technician assists medical staff during GI procedures by preparing equipment and providing technical support. They also coordinate patient care, maintain sterile supplies, and ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent with one year of patient care experience, or relevant certifications like CNA, EMT, or Paramedic. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire and must be maintained.

Summary The Endoscopy Technician reports to the Nurse Manager and is responsible for assisting surgeons/gastroenterologists/physicians and other medical staff in preparation and performance of surgical/endoscopy procedures by processing and furnishing sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients. Minimum Requirements: At least 1 year work experience in a .6fte GI Technical Specialist I position at MUSC CHS or 1 year of patient care work experience in a health care facility; or a college degree, or active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution; or active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution; or a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or equivalent training.
