The Registered Nurse will implement the nursing process based on established standards of practice and ensure adherence to hospital policies and state licensure requirements. They will provide patient care in the emergency department, including triage, stabilization, and clinical intervention for diverse patient conditions.
Candidates must be graduates of an approved nursing program with a minimum of an associate degree and hold a valid New York State registered nurse license. Applicants are required to obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications within the specified timeframe and demonstrate the ability to perform essential physical functions.

Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills (GHMC-C) ED Nurse Bridge to Practice Pilot Program is a comprehensive, 6-month orientation/training program that is designed to assist the new graduate registered nurse to transition into the Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills Adult Emergency Department. During this program, nurses learn the fundamental principles of emergency nursing through formalized classroom instruction and clinical experience with a preceptor. At the completion of the program, they become key members of the Emergency Department team. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for implementing the Nursing Process based on established Standards of Practice and ensuring all patient care policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with Garnet Health Hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and the New York State Licensure requirements. The Registered Nurse will be able to exhibit critical thinking, effectively organize and triage/prioritize accordingly, and implement evidence based nursing.
