We are currently recruiting for a Cytopreparatory Technician at our Midwest POL in Carmel, IN.

Full
Time 40 hours/week, 6AM-2:30PM.
The Cytopreparatory Technician provides professional Anatomic and Clinical laboratory services with a focus on gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology, including the performance of, but not limited to, ThinPrep processing, including cyto-preparation and staining of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens, quality control, instrument maintenance, testing validation, and all other functions of attaining quality specimen testing within the clinical laboratory. The Cytopreparatory Technician is trained according to CLIA guidelines with the approval of the Medical Director.
Prepares specimens for testing, utilizing the Hologic T2000 Processor, centrifugation, slide staining, and loading and unloading instruments with the appropriate specimens.
Performs required preventative maintenance, as defined by the standard operating procedure, on all equipment within the scope of duties.
Manages the delivery of prepared specimens to appropriate testing personnel.
Files slides and specimen containers and discards expired samples according to laboratory retention and disposal policies.
Assists laboratory management in the daily operations of all tasks as assigned, including inventory control and ordering of Cytology stains, solutions, and other required supplies.

Experience and Education
Previous exposure to the operations of an Anatomic Pathology Laboratory highly preferred.
Previous experience operating the Hologic T2000 Processor, ThinPrep Image Processor, and Sakura Tissue-Tek Stainer highly preferred.
High school diploma / GED completion equivalent required
Pay or shift range
$20/hour to $23/hour The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
