The Registered Nurse First Assist performs perioperative nursing duties including scrubbing, circulating, and assisting surgeons during operative procedures. They provide comprehensive nursing management and care to patients throughout the perioperative phase.
Candidates must hold a valid Registered Nurse license and a Certified Operating Room Registered Nurse certification. A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in surgical services and a nursing diploma or associate degree are required.
The Clinical Nurse, First Assist (RNFA) is responsible for perioperative nursing duties and functions as a scrub, circulator or RN First Assist. Assists the operating surgeon during the operative procedure and provides comprehensive nursing management of care to the patient during the perioperative phase.
