The Speech Language Pathologist provides diagnostic and treatment services for speech, language, and dysphagia in an acute care setting. They are responsible for evaluating treatment outcomes and collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and possess a valid license along with a Certificate of Clinical Competence. A minimum of two years of clinical experience in the field is preferred.
The Speech Language Pathologist in the acute care setting is responsible for administering speech/language and dysphagia diagnostic and treatment services to patients and maintaining appropriate records. Position provides age specific direct patient care according to the department's scope of services and is responsible for observing and evaluating treatment effect and results and discuss them with the patient, family, team and management. The primary setting for this position is Cary Hospital and may be required to cover other areas of the WakeMed Rehab Continuum as needed. Department Description
