The Dental Assistant will provide clinical support at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, performing tasks such as radiographic procedures and patient care. The role involves maintaining high standards of dental health and safety in a military clinical environment.
Candidates must have completed a CODA-accredited dental assistant or hygiene program and possess relevant experience within the last 24 to 48 months. Additional requirements include BLS certification, radiography certification, and proficiency in radiation safety and digital processing.

Job Details: Full Time Opportunity Monday through Friday - 6:45am - 3:45pm No night, weekend, holiday, or on-call responsibilities Benefits Offered 11 paid Federal Holidays per year Job Requirements: Successful completion of a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA). Successful completion of one of the following: Certificate or Associate Degree as a dental assistant/technician from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA) and 12 months experience within the preceding 24 Certification from a military dental technician or dental assistant school and 12 months experience within the preceding 24 months. Certification from a Red Cross Dental Assistant course and 12 months’ experience within the preceding 24 months. 36 months experience within the preceding 48 months as a dental assistant in a private practice or a military clinic. Membership in good standing with the American Association of Dental Assistants with required continuing education and 12 months experience within the preceding 24 All training must have included a course in radiation physics; radiation biology; radiation health, safety, and protection; X-ray films and radiographic film quality; radiographic techniques; darkroom and processing techniques; film mounting; and digital radiographic processing techniques. Certified in radiography Six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant after graduation or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant within the last year. Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Dental Hygienist from any State.
