A Day in the Life of a Physician with Winters Healthcare If you were a Family Physician with Winters Healthcare, you would provide care for our patients with a care team, alongside one of our five care team providers. “Team [insert your name here],” includes a compassionate Medical Assistant, a motivating Population Health Coach (PHC), and a designated Patient Service Coordinator (PSC) working side-by-side for your panel of patients.
You will work with our Clinical Psychologists for warm hand-offs and other behavioral health consultation and support.
To enhance our integrated care teams, and resources for patients, we also have our dental department right across the lobby, as well as an on-site pharmacy.
Our services include adult and pediatric primary care, chronic disease management, prenatal care, and minor procedures.
Your day will vary from visit to visit: an 18-month-old well-child visit, to a 63-year-old uninsured male with a cough, to a diabetic migrant-seasonal farm worker, or a 25-year-old female coming in with her first pregnancy.
Each care team typically sees around 17 – 22 patients in an 8-hour shift, and have patient panels that average around 700.

The ideal candidate is a bilingual (English/Spanish) FM-MD who provides prenatal care up to 36 weeks.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, and the ability to establish effective, trusting relationships with patients, colleagues and the community.

Current MD/DO license to practice in the state of California, as well as valid DEA, and CPR/ACLS/BLS; Ability to operate independently, alongside your MA and Population Health Coach Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish is preferred (ability to read, write, and speak), Board eligible or board certified (within 6 months of hire), Strong leadership skills and dedication to serving community health care are essential.
Annual equivalent salary range is $240,000-$280,000 for 32 hrs/week^^ and depends on experience and qualifications. Paid Time Off, holidays, Wellness Days (1 per week during pilot), and CME/CEU Medical, dental, vision, life insurance - 95% paid for employees, and 70% paid for dependents. $1,500 and 32 hours of CME/CEU allowance, plus full licensure and DEA reimbursement 401K retirement match program - 3% match Professional liability insurance includes tail and wrap around coverage NHSC Loan Eligible site (Opportunity for up to $55,000 for full-time and up to $30,000 for part-time in loan assistance)
working 24 hours or more/ week qualifies for full health insurance benefits.
