This role involves providing primary and normative care, patient education, and counseling within the Urgent Care Department, while also assisting other care team members with coordination and initiating prior authorizations when necessary. The nurse will utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in collaboration with providers and assist in developing health education programs.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with relevant nursing experience, holding a current Iowa LPN or RN license, along with current BLS/CPR/First Aid certification and mandatory reporter training. Essential competencies include strong analytical skills, self-motivation, adaptability, and comfort working independently within a diverse group.
Job Description: Clinical Nurse (LPN or RN)

Reports to: Clinic Supervisor
Provides primary care nursing, patient education, health care maintenance, patient counseling, and normative care services to patients at Peoples Community Health Clinic. Works with providers and administers nursing care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Assists with the planning, development and implementation of health education programs and materials, and provides assistance to and supervision of the Patient Clinical Representatives in areas of nursing beyond their scope of practice. Performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission of Peoples Community Health Clinic.

This position requires occasional sitting –(1%-33% of shift); frequent standing (34% - 66% of shift; occasional walking –(1%-33% of shift); occasional lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs. (1% - 33% of shift); frequent pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.(34%-66% of shift) and occasionally 11lbs. – 100lbs (1% - 33% of shift); frequent use of hands/arms for repetitive movement and continuous finger dexterity; occasional bending/stooping, twisting, squatting/crouching, and reaching at, below and above shoulder level (1% - 33% of shift).
Occasional driving might be expected for this position.
