Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates should possess skills in communication, customer service, computer usage, and knowledge of medical terminology.
The EEG Tech operates an electroencephalograph to measure impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain to obtain data for use in diagnosis for brain disorders. The EEG Technician studies wave characteristics during test to detect evidence of brain disorders and may mark graph accordingly for study by a physician or neurologist. Relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks. Works under close supervision.
