Responsible for the administration of medications and treatments to assisted living residents in compliance with DPW regulations. Duties include assessing resident needs, documenting care, and assisting with activities of daily living.

Responsible for AL Resident self-administration of medications and treatments per shift in accordance with policies and procedures of The Hearth at Drexel and DPW. Assess residents’ needs daily. Initiate interventions as needed and direct to supervisor using Interact Form. Assist with monitoring dining room at meal times in Assisted Living Department. Responsible for knowledge and compliance with all DPW regulations on medications. Assist with activities of daily living required by AL residents. Report refusal of medications and/or services to supervisors and properly document to ensure medications/treatments are done. Report and communicate daily with the nursing supervisor regarding Assisted Living issues. Document daily report sheets to ensure medications are double-checked and documented before self-administration at same time and charting as events occur. Report incidents on day of incident and fill out forms and reports to supervisor immediately. Maintain med carts/med refrigerator each shift. Maintain supply area for proper supplies and neatness daily per shift. Responsible to complete treatments, mini nebs, and accu-checks as ordered by physician. Education and Experience:
Requires a current PA Certified Nursing Assistant license and Medication Technician certification through DHS. Candidates must be CPR certified and have previous experience in geriatric care.
