The Orthopedic Technician provides essential services to in-patients and outpatients, including the application and removal of casts, splints, and braces. They are also responsible for managing traction, overhead suspensions, and Continuous Passive Motion machines.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. A minimum of six months of experience in patient rehab-related health care areas is required.
Under general supervision of the Team Leader, following established policies, procedures and guidelines, the Orthopedic Technician provides services to in-patients and outpatients at TGH and the Rehabilitation Center. General services provided include application and removal of casts, splints, braces, traction, overhead suspensions and Continuous Passive Motion machines. Also responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of high school, or a GED.
Six (6) months in patient rehab-related health care areas.
