The Vascular Access Nurse is responsible for inserting and managing vascular access devices for patients undergoing medical treatments. This includes assessing patients' needs, monitoring for complications, and providing education on care and maintenance.
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required, along with current licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio. Three years of related clinical experience in the specialty area is preferred.
36 hrs/week, nights, 7p-7a, every third weekend, holiday rotation. Pay to commensurate with experience. Benefits eligible.
Summary: Inserts and manages vascular access devices for patients undergoing medical treatments.
Essential Functions: Assesses patients' vascular access needs and determining the most appropriate access device. Cares and maintains peripheral intravenous catheters, midline catheters, and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs). Monitors patients' vascular access devices for complications, such as infection, occlusion, and extravasation. Provides education to patients and their families on vascular access care and maintenance. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement vascular access policies and procedures. Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the safety and efficacy of vascular access care. Education Requirement: BSN, required. Licensure Requirement: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio, required.
