The Coding Specialist manages billing, charge entry, and coding functions specifically for the Imaging Department. They are responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and following established workflows consistently.
Requires a high school diploma and at least one year of healthcare experience or graduation from an accredited billing/coding program. CPC or RCC certification is preferred, or must be obtained within two years of hire.
The Coding Specialist is primarily responsible for billing, charge entry, and related coding functions within the Imaging Department. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent, required Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical or healthcare setting, required In lieu of experience, graduate from an accredited Medical Billing/Coding program may be considered Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification and/or Radiology Certified Coder (RCC) certification, preferred Candidates who do not hold a CPC or RCC at the time of hire will be required to obtain certification within two (2) years of employment
