Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ care needs, develop and reassess plan of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
• Provide and coordinate nursing care with the physician for individuals and groups of patients
• Teach patients and families; assist in milieu management; participate in discharge planning and aftercare education
• Document, report, and verify information according to established policies and procedures
• Monitor for safety risks and communicate concerns to the physician to prevent adverse outcomes; maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
• Serve as a clinical lead, delegating/coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development; contribute to ongoing practice improvement

Requirements

• Active Michigan registered nurse license
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years behavioral health experience (required)
• Pediatric experience (required)
• Experience in inpatient adolescent behavioral health settings
• Availability for every other weekend shifts
