The Recovery Peer Advocate uses lived experience with substance use to support individuals in achieving recovery goals through outreach and mentoring. They collaborate with patients to develop recovery plans and navigate treatment and community-based support services.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be CRPA certified or willing to obtain certification within 60-90 days. A valid NYS driver's license and experience working with diverse populations with mental health or substance use concerns are required.

The Recovery Peer Advocate is an individual who uses their knowledge acquired through lived experience related to substance use, to support the recovery goals of individuals who use drugs and/or alcohol. Peer support services are defined by OASAS as “services for the purpose of outreach for engaging an individual to consider entering treatment, reinforcing current patients’ engagement in treatment and connecting patients to community-based recovery supports consistent with treatment/recovery and discharge plans.”
Qualified candidate will have a high school diploma or GED; must be CRPA certified or willing to complete CRPA-P requirements within 60-90 days; Must have a current and valid NYS driver’s license must be familiar with the targeted communities (people who use substances that may or may not be in treatment); must possess experience working with diverse patient populations, including but not limited to people with mental health and/or substance use concerns and individuals who are racial/ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ+, and individuals living with HIV; working knowledge of electronic medical records software (Medent) preferred, but not required
Full Time - M, W, Th, F 9am-5pm, Tue 11am - 7pm

This position is posted with a salary range. The actual rate of pay offered will be based on a variety of individualized factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s skills, relevant experience, educational background, internal equity, and market considerations.
