The Physical Therapist Assistant may work in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting. The Therapist is supervised by Rehab Services management and maintains a positive working relationship with other health professionals and ancillary staff.
What you will do
Follows the plan of care and performs PTA procedures as allowed by referral to aid in restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, and preventing or limiting permanent physical disabilities. Perform services planned, delegated by the Therapist.
Assesses patients' needs and status by analyzing evaluated data and interprets information, identifying age-specific needs and proving care accordingly.
Assists and participates in the training and support of all team members, volunteers and students.
Records patients' progress and reports the results of each treatment to the physical therapist.
Treats patients through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions.
Provides patient education on interventions.

Candidates must hold an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant and a valid PTA license from the Virginia Department of Health Professions. CPR/BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire, and one year of healthcare experience is preferred.
