The Infection Control Nurse monitors healthcare-associated infections and tracks trends to report clusters to state and local agencies. They ensure compliance with OSHA standards and lead infection control in-service education for staff.
Candidates must be a licensed Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse from an accredited school of nursing. CPR certification is recommended, and certification in Infection Control is desired.
The Infection Control Nurse evaluates quality of resident care and resident outcomes as they relate to healthcare associated/nosocomial infections.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Current license as a Registered Nurse (PA/OH)/Licensed Practical Nurse (OH only) with the State Board of Nursing. CPR certification recommended. Certification in Infection Control is desired.
