The Registered Nurse coordinates clinical activities for laboring, antenatal, and post-partum patients using the nursing process. They are also responsible for supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, and Certified Nursing Assistants.
Candidates must have a Board Certified Registered Nursing Program completion, current LA RN licensure, and at least one year of labor experience. Required certifications include BLS, with ALS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring required within three months of hire.
Successfully completed Board Certified Registered Nursing Program. One (1) year labor experience required. Current LA RN licensure. BLS required on hire. ALS and NRP preferred on hire, required within 3 months of hire. Certifications may be through any International Liaison Committee on resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring within 3 months of hire, and must be updated/renewed every two (2) years. Physical Demands: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
