A high school diploma is required, while a bachelor's degree and one to two years of laboratory experience are preferred. Candidates must be detail-oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
We are seeking a highly motivated research technician to work on projects related to central and peripheral nervous system tumors (brain tumors and peripheral nerve sheath tumors). The candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting with experiments studying the effect of different drug interventions on tumor growth in a mouse model. An ideal candidate would have mouse handling experience, including breeding, genotyping, collection of samples/data from mouse experiments, oral gavage, and IP injections. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to participate in the general management and daily operation of the lab. Job Responsibilities: Animal experiment (Animal handling (newborn mice and rats), feeding pups via an oro-gastric tube, observation of the pups, Collection of intestinal tissue). Routine, general lab work (Solutions preparation, animal formula preparation, autoclaving lab ware and sterilizing instruments, keeping bench clean, cleaning of objects used for experiments and disposal of waste Data collection, timely sample processing and storage. Willing to learn and improve/develop techniques. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. One to two years laboratory experience preferred. The candidate will have skilled hands, be detail oriented and well organized. Ability to communicate effectively, works independently and under supervision, and function as a research team member.
