Setting: Acute-care inpatient Med/Surg Oncology
Responsibilities
Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to adult Med/Surg oncology inpatients, including assessment, monitoring, and timely escalation of changes in condition.
Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and monitor labs and treatment responses in accordance with protocols.
Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments, document findings, and contribute to the development and adjustment of the plan of care.
Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, case managers, and other disciplines to coordinate care and discharge planning.
Ensure patient safety and comfort, promote infection control practices, and respond to clinical changes and emergencies as part of the care team.
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and self-care after discharge.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Oncology inpatient experience
Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), NIHSS, and ACLS required
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm–7:00 am) on a 12x3 rotation
Comfortable working in an inpatient hospital setting
Travel assignment eligibility and willingness to relocate for the 13-week assignment
