Range: $21.00 - $22.00 HourlyDirect Support Professional - Clay ARISE is seeking a motivated and organized Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a young man with cerebral palsy that lives with his sister and brother-in-law in the Cicero/Clay area. In this role, you will help him work on his habilitative goals that include volunteering, increasing independent living skills, exercising, and more structured recreational activities. He utilizes a wheelchair and requires physical assistance to move around, as well as with feeding and basic self-care tasks. Candidate must be able to get him in and out of the house using his wheelchair ramp. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, be motivated and active, and be able to push him in his wheelchair up and down the ramp at his house independently.
Hours and days of work: Tuesday afternoons and/or weekends With the option of additional hours in Respite at a slightly lower rate. Respite includes taking individual walks around the community.

Payrate

$21.00-$22.00
Location: Clay Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assistance with independent living skills, support with health and safety and pursuing personal interests. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities a plus. A reliable vehicle and a valid NYS driver's license are required. EFR is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community. Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred. New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required. Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency. Qualifications Must have a valid drivers license Effective communication and organizational skills required. Flexibility with assignments and schedule required. Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time. Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred. Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
