The CRNA is responsible for preparing and administering anesthetic agents to patients for medical or surgical procedures. They perform pre-anesthesia evaluations, monitor patients during surgery to maintain homeostasis, and provide clinical guidance to students.
Requires a Master's degree or higher in nursing from an AANA-accredited school and certification as a CRNA by the NBCRNA. Candidates must hold a valid Texas Board of Nursing license as an APRN-CRNA and current AHA Life Support certifications.
JOB SUMMARY Works under moderate supervision of physician, and/or nurse administrator to provide professional nursing service administering anesthesia to surgery patients.

Required Education Master's Degree or higher in nursing, documentation of graduation from a school of nurse anesthesia accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA). Experience No experience required Licenses and Certifications Current applicable American Heart Association Life Support certification(s) based on UT Southwestern "Advanced Practice Provider Life Support Certificate Guidelines". Upon Hire and Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (APRN-CRNA) by the Texas Board of Nursing.
