The specialist ensures that diagnoses and documentation support medical necessity for insurance pre-authorization of office visits and procedures. They collaborate with referring offices, co-workers, and vendors to secure necessary approvals and paperwork.
A high school diploma is required, with preferred knowledge of CPT codes and experience in outpatient coding and billing. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and the ability to maintain focus on fine details.
