This newly remodeled 25 private bed unit is committed to providing the highest quality, compassionate care to total joint; general orthopedics; spine and neurosurgery patients. We are a highly engaged team, with a dedicated orthopedic coordinator that collaborates with orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and we take a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. Unit

General Orthopedic skills: dressing changes, post operative ambulation, brace application, ect. Wound vac care, IV therapy and medications Pre-op and Post-op care for ortho/neuro/spine patients Unit Successes/Designations: Healthgrades Joint Replacement Excellence Award 2023 Previously held Advanced Certification in Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement and Hip Fracture Certification by the Joint Commission for over 10 years. Lead all inpatient units in meeting the goal of decreased Length of Stay. Unit Culture: Fast paced Quick turnaround times Collaborative care with physical therapy, case management team, social work, hospitalist, and Surgeons along with nursing staff.

Qualifications

Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Education

The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.

Exceptions

  • Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Requirements
