The RN is responsible for monitoring critically ill patients, administering medications, and operating life-support equipment like ventilators. They must collaborate with healthcare teams to develop treatment plans and provide emotional support to patients and families.
Candidates must have an Associate Degree in Nursing, a valid New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License, and BLS certification. Direct experience is required, with one year of Telemetry experience preferred.
The Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU should understand the importance of attention to detail and possess high-level critical thinking skills for acutely and critically ill patients. The core responsibilities in this role are: Monitoring Patients: Continuously assessing vital signs and responding to any changes in condition. Administering Medications: Ensuring accurate dosage and timely administration of treatments. Operating Medical Equipment: Managing ventilators, monitors, and other life-support devices. Collaborating with Healthcare Teams: Working closely with physicians and specialists to develop treatment plans. Providing Emotional Support: Educating and comforting patients and their families during difficult times. Maintaining Patient Records: Keeping detailed documentation of treatments and progress. Responding to Emergencies: Acting swiftly in life-threatening situations, including resuscitation efforts. Adhering to Safety Protocols: Following strict infection control measures to protect patients and staff.
