The Patient Care Assistant provides direct and indirect non-professional nursing support within the Oncology Department. Key duties include monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, and managing clerical tasks under medical supervision.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and a Medical Assistant degree, WV CNA license, or PCT certification. Additionally, a score of 80% or higher on the Medical Terminology exam and CPR certification are required.
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a casual Patient Care Assistant to work with our team in the Oncology Department.
The Patient Care Assistant works in a supporting role to nursing by conducting patient care activities. Applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under nursing or medical supervision. Primarily this includes but is not limited to performing duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, assisting with activities of daily living, managing clerical duties and ordering and receiving supplies. To be considered, candidates must provide documentation of an 80% or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam.
