Provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing care to oncology patients under medical supervision. Duties include taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, and assisting patients with daily living activities.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and a Medical Assistant degree, WV CNA license, or PCT certification. A score of 80% or higher on the Medical Terminology exam is required, along with CPR and Glucoscan certifications within 90 days.
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a part-time Patient Care Assistant to work with our team in the Oncology Department.
The Patient Care Assistant works in a supporting role to nursing by conducting patient care activities. Applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under nursing or medical supervision. Primarily this includes but is not limited to performing duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, assisting with activities of daily living, managing clerical duties and ordering and receiving supplies. To be considered, candidates must provide documentation of an 80% or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam.
