Maintains sterile conditions and anticipates the needs of the surgical team during operative procedures. Acts as a primary scrub person and serves as a resource and preceptor for others in the service line.
Requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program and certification as a CST or CORST. Must possess expert knowledge of asepsis and instrumentation and obtain BLS certification within 90 days.
Education Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program (Required) Work Experience Expert knowledge of asepsis, instrumentation, suture and surgical procedures in a defined specialty. (Required) Meets Surgical Technologist II promotional/maintenance requirements. (Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Good communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and prescribed medical therapies.
