Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to patients per physician orders, including assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing monitoring.
• Manage ventilator support, weaning, airway clearance therapies, bronchodilator delivery, and aerosolized medications as prescribed.
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, humidification, arterial blood gas sampling as directed, and monitor patient response; document findings accurately in the chart.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to adjust care plans based on patient status; communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and support staff.
• Adhere to the facility’s attendance policy and contract terms; float to areas you are qualified for; weekends required every other week; may be asked to make up call-ins within the contract timeframe.
• Maintain infection control standards, safety protocols, and equipment readiness; ensure accurate documentation and ordering per policy.

Requirements

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Michigan (RRT) - 2+ years of RRT experience (required)
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (AHA) required
• Travel experience preferred
• Ability to float to multiple units as needed; comfortable working nights in a hospital setting
• Willingness to adhere to attendance policies and to participate in the assignment’s schedule
